Mexican fest to host Iranian animation ‘The Boot’

Iranian animation ‘The Boot’ has been selected to compete at the 37th edition of the Guadalajara International Film Festival in Mexico.

Directed by Mohsen Pourmohsen-Shakib, the animation narrates the story of a bird that is searching for food in a war-torn city filled with corpses.

The animation has so far participated in several international film festivals, including the Alpinale Short Film Festival in Austria, and the Oscar-qualifying El Festival Internacional de Cine de Lebu in Chile.

The Guadalajara International Film aims to help filmmakers from around the world showcase their films. According to the official website of the festival, “it is a place for training, instruction and creative exchange between professionals in the film industry”.

The 2022 edition of the event will be held on June 10-18.
